Introduction
It’s expedient to understand that, every medium of service in humanity is a ministry!
You don’t need to be ordained before ministering in the secular. But it’s dangerous to be ministering in the kingdom (of God) without being genuinely & officially ordained – irrespective of the part of the kingdom you find yourself per time.
Mind you, if you’re not yet ordained officially & you’re officiating in d office of a minister, watch out; Satan is coming for you!
It’s expedient you’re under d coverage of the one that is genuinely ordained – while you’re (servicing your gift by) serving the interest of God’s kingdom – than running in isolation in the name of “Calling”
Leadership/Mentorship
“Those who don’t have mentors will eventually run mental!”
You can’t play down d place of mentorship in your quest for developing leadership!
Apostle Paul said:
“For though you have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers..” 1cor.4:15-16!
Arrival Mentality
We must get rid of arrival mentality in this generation as ministers & leaders!
To think we know enough because we have become more popular than our mentors by virtue of many followers & influence, etc doesn’t mean we have arrived!
There are battles you can’t confront on your own, there are riddles you can’t unravel, hence we all need mentors!
Example
Moses was under Jethro’s mentorship for over 30 years. Jethro was a priest (minister) of Midian. Later when Moses was to start his own ministry – he started a mega church in the wilderness. Even though he was called yet he got to a point where Jethro had to intervene because Moses was leading near to self – destruction unknowingly. God used Jethro’s mentorship to reorganize Moses’ ministry!
Jethro taught Moses
“Ministry Assignment Structure” (MAS) Exo.18
To confirm this ideology, when you read Num 11:10-25, it will amaze you to note that the same counsel given Moses
by Jethro was exactly what God instructed!
Submission
This is the major problem in the body of Christ Jesus today!
Everybody wants to lead & many are not prepared to submit! We end up leaders by first learning to serve. It’s during stewardship that leadership comes.
– Moses submitted to Jethro
– Hezekiah submitted to Isiah
– Timothy & others submitted to Paul
– Ruth submitted to Naomi
The question is:
Who have you submitted to…?
See you in Pt. 2
